Dear Mom and Dad
Yesterday after I left home I caught the first train to Mexico City. I've rented a small room at an inn, I want to get out of Mexico soon though, I feel uneasy and unsafe here, when we came here on holiday everything was great, but I don't know...this time it seems different...I guess it's because I'm alone.
Will write soon.

Dear Mom and Dad
I finally got out of Mexico, what a relief. I won't go into much detail but basically I managed to get down to the harbour and convince the captain of an old machinery trade ship to let me on board. The ship is going to Italy, which will be the farthest I've been from home. It's scary but I'm excited. For once in my life I have no idea what's going to happen next and I love the feeling. I feel free. The ship is old but the ocean is clean and the air is fresh. The captain says I have to help the chef out in the kitchen, if I want to stay on board, which I think is fair enough. The old chef I work for's name is Abran and his English is really bad, but he's sweet and I like him already. They say we will arrive in Italy in no less than 2 weeks (weather depending) I hope I don't get sea sick. I know it sounds stupid but I never realised how big the ocean is...and at night... I've never seen so many stars - its truly amazing. Everything is so new and I haven't even reached Italy yet. Apparently I'm going to be very buzy on board so I won't write again until I arrive in Italy.
Love always
